Photography is cheap.  Everyone and their dog is a photographer with their iPhone and Instagram account.  I try to avoid Instagram, over-processing, and miniature effects.  There’s a satisfaction in doing you’re own photography and not relying on someone else’s prepackaged filter or effect.  At least what comes out in the end is your own unique product.

My photography is generally documentary style.  Minimal processing that tries to stay as true to the reality of the scene as possible.  The art should arise from the moment, the composition, the lighting, the subject… Not the postprocessing.

My aspiration is to represent the incredible and complex world around us in an honest and thought-provoking manner.  The stories behind the photos are what give them meaning.  If I can transmit even a sentence of that story through the frame, then and only then will it rise above a photo and become art.
